MODERN MINIMALIST DESIGN
Our quality contemporary lifestyle goods are inspired by the aesthetics of minimalist Japanese design, showcasing the exotic pine beetle kill wood. Our designs connect you to nature, and bring elegant simplicity into your home. Every Killwood product is built to last, with solid wood construction, and precise attention to detail. Proudly handmade in British Columbia, Canada by craftsmen with over 30 years experience.
BLUE IS THE NEW GREEN
We exclusively use quality pine beetle kill wood, which is wood from trees affected by the pine beetle epidemic. Most people think green means recycling. Killwood on the other hand, is all about upcycling, transforming otherwise waste material into elegant eco-friendly products. A gorgeous CO2-offsetting material, pine beetle kill wood displays a unique blue grain and has the same strength as conventional wood. Each Killwood product is one-of-a-kind with a distinctive character all its own.
WOOD THAT DOES GOOD
When trees are infested by the pine beetle, CO2 is released and intensifies over time. By crafting Killwood lifestyle goods we are trapping this pollution and mitigating the greenhouse effect from these dead trees.
REVIVING BC FORESTRY
By selecting quality wood from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, and crafting our products locally, Killwood is alleviating the economic impact of the epidemic on BC forestry – benefitting everyone from loggers to mills to suppliers.
Not only are we using woods that do good, the Re-Tree Movement is another way we’re helping to rejuvenate local Canadian forests. For every Killwood product created, a new tree will be planted in place of the dead tree that was upcycled and reimagined.
MEET THE CREW

UBC BA Psychology, Law & Society
Gleb studied about the interconnection between people and the environment. His passion about sustainability arose and aligned with his ambition to become an entrepreneur. After research about the pine beetle epidemic, it really hit close to home, as the devastation was occurring in his own back yard and so little was being done. As a result, Gleb had knowledge of a sustainable material and motivation to create, but was missing a creator.

Pierre wanted to use the design process to pioneer an environmental design endeavor to battle climate change, but was missing a suitable sustainable material. That’s when Pierre combined talents with Gleb to use pine beetle kill wood and revitalize the beautiful landscape that we call home.
